Coffee Bean Roasting - Electric Roaster: Part 4
Found a corn kernel mixed in with my coffee beans. It wasn't just in there, it was roasted with the beans???
Went to add coffee beans to my grinder, when I noticed a "token" corn kernal mixed in with the beans. Makes me wonder what elase might be lurking amongst the beans ... Is corn used in any step of the coffee roasting process?? Could roasters be adding corn kernels to cheat the buyers on the weight of the product??? Hmmm ..

Here is one possible suggestion. Newman's Own is a food company, they are responsible for many different food products that you may find on your table at one time or another. Newman's own not only has its own line of coffee, but also sells popcorn.
I don't know what brand of coffee you were using, but there is a possibility of cross-contamination in a plant that processes coffee beans and corn kernels. I know this is far-fetched, but highly more likely than a reputable company stretching their coffee by adding corn. Especially, in this day and age, with food allergies so prevalent, this would not be a wise move by a food processing company.
